India's MAN Industries Limited, a leading manufacturer of large-diameter carbon steel line pipes, has acquired a 100 percent stake in Saudi Arabia's National Pipe Company Limited. The acquisition was made through its wholly owned subsidiary, MAN International Steel Industries Company, according to a company statement released on Wednesday, May 27.
The statement noted that the transaction involved a cash payment of approximately $102 million. This brings National Pipe Company's manufacturing facility in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, under MAN's control. The plant has an annual production capacity of 430,000 metric tons of API-certified large-diameter steel pipes.
With this acquisition, MAN Industries aims to strengthen its position in the Saudi Arabian market, the statement added.
