Trinity Metals launches deep drilling at Nyakabingo mine

Announcing on May 26, Trinity Metals has commenced an advanced drilling programme at the Nyakabingo mine in Rwanda's Rulindo District, aiming to expand mineral resources and underpin long-term tungsten production.
The mine is Africa's biggest tungsten producer and plays a central role in Rwanda's mining sector. Its tungsten concentrate is exported primarily to Austria, where it is processed into wire, electrodes and wear-resistant industrial components.
Nyakabingo currently yields between 100 and 110 tonnes of wolframite per month, with a tungsten content of 66 to 70 percent. Trinity Metals sees strong long-term upside, estimating that the operation could sustain production for more than 40 years with ongoing investment and exploration.
The mine sits on a 1,600-hectare concession believed to hold about 115,502 tonnes of recoverable tungsten, with further potential at depth.
Beyond tungsten, Trinity Metals also produces tin and tantalum and has identified a prospective lithium target. The company additionally operates the Musha and Rutongo mines.
