Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio signed a framework agreement on May 26 focused on securing supply chains in the mining and processing of critical minerals and rare earths, a move designed to deepen bilateral cooperation in the strategic sector.
An Indian foreign ministry statement said the framework aims to enhance collaboration across the entire critical minerals value chain -- from mining, processing and recycling to related investments.
The pact is intended to strengthen resilient, diversified supply chains while promoting joint work on financing and the efficient management of critical minerals and rare earth scrap.
