Hsikwangshan Twinkling Star Co., Ltd. has completed a trial to recover valuable metals from lead-removal slag produced during antimony smelting.
By optimizing the pyrometallurgical reduction process and tightening on-site management, the company has turned out more than 120 tons of lead-antimony alloy. The antimony recovery rate increased from 92.17% to 95.78%. The antimony content in the slag dropped from 35% to 0.95% in recycled lead slag, and lead content fell from 7% to 1.41%. The project has generated a total economic benefit of RMB4.05 million (USD597,000), achieving efficient extraction and recovery of antimony and lead from the waste slag.
Adoption of this technology will greatly reduce the cost of hazardous waste disposal, raise overall resource recovery rates and economic gains. It also facilitates the recycling of solid waste, supporting the company's green and low-carbon operations as well as sound sustainable development.
