German crude steel output up in January-April

Germany's crude steel production increased 9.5 percent year on year to 3.23 million tonnes in April, according to the German Steel Federation (WV Stahl). Output for the first four months of 2026 rose 9.1 percent to 12.49 million tonnes.
Pig iron production climbed 10.9 percent to 2.06 million tonnes in April, pushing the January–April total to 7.93 million tonnes, up 10.5 percent year on year.
Hot rolled steel output grew 10.5 percent to 2.75 million tonnes in April, while the four-month figure advanced 6.3 percent to 10.76 million tonnes, both compared with the same periods last year.
