China launches pilot verification for mining robots

China's General Affairs Department of the National Mine Safety Administration and the General Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology have jointly issued a notice to launch a pilot program for the application and validation of mining robots.
The pilot covers seven major scenarios: tunneling, mining, transportation, mineral processing, auxiliary operation, safety control and emergency rescue. It aims to verify robot safety, reliability, stability, practicality, adaptability to harsh environments and collaborative operation capability. Operational data will be collected and analyzed to explore standardized maintenance and management mechanisms.
Verification for tunneling, mining and processing robots shall last no less than six months. Transportation and safety control robots need assessment at no fewer than two sites, with each trial running a minimum of six months. Auxiliary and emergency rescue robots will be tested across three or more locations, each with a verification period of no less than nine months.
