On April 21, 2026, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) initiated a sunset (expiry) review of the anti-dumping (AD) order imposed on July 2, 2021, concerning imports of concrete reinforcing bar (rebar) from Algeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam.
The original investigation, conducted in May 2021, examined shipments from these seven nations and established respective dumping margins of 4.8% for Algeria, 23.1% for Egypt, 3.3% for Indonesia, 10.5% for Vietnam, and 23.1% for Italy, Malaysia, and Singapore.
This expiry review is designed to determine whether the removal of existing AD measures would likely result in the continuation or recurrence of dumping.
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is expected to issue a final decision by September 17, 2026, with the Statement of Reasons scheduled for release on October 2, 2026.
