China's Q1 finished steel products output slides 1.7% YoY

In March 2026, China produced 73.28 million tonnes of pig iron, down 3.3% YoY, 87.04 million tonnes of crude steel, down 6.3% YoY, and 130.98 million tonnes of finished steel products, down 2.3 YoY, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
For the first quarter, pig iron output declined 2.9% YoY to 210.98 million tonnes, while crude steel production decreased 4.6% YoY to 247.55 million tonnes. The output of finished steel products declined 1.7% YoY to around 351.44 million tonnes.
