Shanghai Huafon Aluminium Corporation has announced plans to invest up to RMB3 billion (USD439 million) in the construction of a high-end aluminum sheet, strip and foil project in Baitao Industrial Park, Fuling District, Chongqing.
The project, designed with an annual capacity of 550,000 tonnes, will be developed and operated by a wholly-owned subsidiary of Huafon Aluminium. Covering approximately 600 Mu (about 40 hectares), it will feature a continuous rolling production line for aluminum sheet, strip and foil. Construction is expected to take around 36 months. Key products will include high-end aluminum materials, including medium-to-thick plate and can stock.
Huafon Aluminium's first-phase project, with an annual capacity of 200,000 tonnes, has already reached full production and is operating steadily. Its second phase, a 450,000tpa intelligent manufacturing project focused on high-end aluminum sheet, strip and foil for new energy vehicles, is expected to be fully commissioned next year.
The newly planned third phase will form a large-scale industrial cluster together with the first and second phases, generating strong synergies. The company aims to establish a globally leading production base for aluminum heat transfer materials and new energy materials.
