China's copper, aluminum and zinc output rises in Jan-Feb

China's National Bureau of Statistics recently released data on major industrial products, showing broadly higher output across key non-ferrous metals in the first two months of 2026.
In January-February, China's iron ore output reached 161.64 million tonnes, up 1.3% YoY. Lead production totaled 1.15 million tonnes, down 1.0% YoY, while zinc output rose 5.4% YoY to 1.2 million tonnes.
Alumina production stood at 15.18 million tonnes, up 0.2% YoY, and primary aluminum output increased 3.0% YoY to 7.53 million tonnes. Aluminum alloy production climbed 8.9% YoY to 2.77 million tonnes, while aluminum products declined 4.2% YoY to 9.49 million tonnes.
Copper production showed strong growth, with refined copper output reaching 2.47 million tonnes, up 9.0% YoY. Output of copper products rose 3.4% YoY to 3.39 million tonnes.
