Ka Shui International Holdings Limited announced its indirect wholly-owned subsidiary, Ka Shui Metal Company Limited, has agreed to acquire a 40% stake in Kamay New Material Technology (Yulin) Company Limited for RMB14.3 million (USD2.07 million) in cash, giving it full ownership of the company upon completion.
The deal, signed on March 17 with Jiaxian Zhongtuo Huixin Technology Co., Ltd., is subject to customary conditions, including arrangements for Kamay New Material to secure long-term supply of crude magnesium and raw coal gas from Zhongtuo Huixin.
Ka Shui said getting full ownership will help accelerate trial and commercialization of newly developed magnesium alloys with flame retardant, corrosion resistant and high thermal conductivity characteristics for manufacturing at Kamay New Material, and enhance its ability to meet rising market demand.
The company added that, supported by existing die-casting capacity and cost advantages in northwest China, Kamay New Material is well positioned to provide integrated magnesium alloy and die-casting solutions, with plans to expand across the entire northwest region.
