Major Chinese steel mills produced around 18.45 million tonnes of finished steel during the first ten days of March, with the daily average output of 1,845,000 tonnes, down 12.6% from late February, according to China Iron & Steel Association (CISA).
By the end of the period, finished steel inventories at major mills were 17.81 million tonnes, an increase of 470,000 tonnes, or 2.7%, from late last month.
