Qiangang Technology to build green metal materials project in Yunnan's Malong

A new green metal materials project is set to be built in Malong district, Yunnan Province, after the local government signed an agreement with Shandong Qiangang Metal Technology Co., Ltd.
The project, with a planned annual capacity of 1.1 million tonnes, will require an investment of about RMB2 billion (USD290 million) and cover roughly 216Mu (14.4 hectares) of land. Using high-grade specialty steel strip from local steel mill Chenggang as its primary feedstock, It will produce a range of steel products, including cold-rolled sheet, hot-dip galvanized sheet, high-end coated steel products, precision steel pipes and highway guardrails, for use in sectors such as solar energy, prefabricated construction, high-end equipment, automotive and home appliance manufacturing, and transport infrastructure.
Once operational, the project is expected to support the development of a local green industry cluster and strengthen links with markets in southwest China, as well as South and Southeast Asia.
