Major Chinese steel mills' daily finished steel output down 9.6% in early Feb

Major Chinese steel mills produced around 17.5 million tonnes of finished steel during the first ten-day period of February 2026, with the daily average output of 1,750,000 tonnes, down 9.6% from late January, according to China Iron & Steel Association (CISA).
By the end of the period, finished steel inventories at major mills stood at 15.11 million tonnes, an increase of 400,000 tonnes, or 2.7%, from late January.
