Major Chinese steel mills' daily finished steel output rebounds in mid-Jan

Major Chinese steel mills produced around 18.77 million tonnes of finished steel during the second ten-day period of January 2026, with the daily average output of 1,877,000 tonnes, up 3.0% from early this month, according to China Iron & Steel Association (CISA).
By the end of the period, finished steel inventories at major mills stood at 16.13 million tonnes, an increase of 1.09 million tonnes, or 7.3%, from ten days ago.
