China's alumina output up 8% YoY in 2025

In December 2025, China produced around 8.01 million tonnes of alumina, up 6.7% YoY, 3.87 million tonnes of primary aluminum, up 3.0% YoY, 1.83 million tonnes of aluminum alloy, up 13.7% YoY, and 6.14 million tonnes of aluminum products, basically on par with the prior year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
In 2025, China's alumina output totaled 92.45 million tonnes, up 8.0% YoY. Primary aluminum production reached 45.02 million tonnes, up 2.4% YoY. Aluminum alloy output increased further by 15.8% YoY to 19.30 million tonnes, while aluminum products output edged down 0.2% YoY to 67.50 million tonnes.
