Xinzhou, USTB and Xingming Magnesium set up green magnesium smelting research center

On January 20, Xinzhou City signed an agreement with the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) and Wutai Xingming Magnesium Co., Ltd. to jointly establish a research center that focuses on green power-based magnesium smelting technologies and promote closer industry-academia collaboration to support the low-carbon transformation of the magnesium-based new materials sector in Xinzhou.
Under the agreement, USTB will contribute research and talent resources to advance technology development and commercialization, while Xinzhou will enhance policy and service support to speed up the translation of research outcomes into industrial applications, underpinning the growth of a trillion-yuan-level new materials industry cluster and high-quality development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
