Chengxin Lithium strengthens control over Murong lithium mine

Chengxin Lithium Group announced plans to acquire a 30% stake in Sichuan Qicheng Mining Co., Ltd. for RMB2.08 billion (USD298 million) through its subsidiary, Sichuan Chengtun Lithium Industry Co., Ltd. Once completed, Chengxin Lithium will own 100% of Qicheng Mining, further boosting its control over the Murong lithium mine.
The Murong mine, operated by Qicheng Mining's subsidiary Huirong Mining, mainly produces lithium, niobium, and tantalum with an annual mining capacity of 3 million tonnes. It is one of the highest-grade lithium deposits in Sichuan, with total ore (Measured + Indicated + Inferred) resources of 61.1 million tonnes, containing 989,600 tonnes of lithium oxide at 1.62% Li2O, 5,888 tonnes of niobium pentoxide at 0.01% Nb2O5, and 3,013 tonnes of tantalum pentoxide at 0.01% Ta2O5. Development and construction of the mine are well underway.
