On December 4, BGT Group's subsidiary BGT (Beijing) New Materials Technology Co., Ltd., signed a framework agreement to acquire a controlling stake in Yunnan Wenye Nonferrous Metals Co., Ltd., a privately-owned company engaged in antimony mining, beneficiation, smelting, as well as antimony product processing and sales.
BGT has validated an efficient process for recovering metallic antimony from wastewater and sludge, and this acquisition forms part of its vertical integration strategy, covering antimony mining, smelting, product manufacturing, and recycling. The move is expected to enhance resource utilization, improve profitability, and accelerate the commercialization of its antimony recovery technology.
Yunnan Wenye produces refined antimony (including 3N and 4N high-grade antimony), high-purity antimony trioxide, and ethylene glycol antimony. It currently operates three refined antimony production lines, two antimony trioxide production lines, and another two lines for ethylene glycol antimony.
The company holds two antimony mining licenses. Its subsidiary, Xiaoxiban Antimony Co., Ltd. in Xichou County, operates the 30,000tpa Xiaoxiban antimony mine, with proven reserves of 320,800 tonnes of ore (categories 332+333), containing 7,760 tonnes of antimony. Its 30,000tpa Nadan antimony mine in Guangnan County is awaiting permit renewals before resuming operations, with reserves of 258,100 tonnes of ore (categories 111b+122b+333), containing 6,783 tonnes of antimony at an average grade of 2.63% Sb.
