The Department of Ecology and Environment of Jiangxi Province has given preliminary EIA approval for a 9,000tpa ammonium paratungstate (APT) technical upgrade project by Dayu Guangrong Tungsten Co., Ltd.
The project, located at Xinhua Industrial Area of Dayu Industrial Park in Ganzhou, Jiangxi, involves a total investment of RMB418 million (USD58.8 million). It will use wolframite and high- and low-grade scheelite as main raw materials, adopting an "acid decomposition + ammonia leaching" process developed by Central South University to produce APT, along with a by-product of lower-grade APT. Both feedstock ores will be blended and processed on the same production line. Once operational, the project is expected to produce 9,000 tonnes of APT annually.
