On November 3, Guangxi held the High-Quality Development Conference and Investment Fair for the Nonferrous and Critical Metals Industry in Nanning, where 35 major projects were signed. These projects cover nine critical metals and key nonferrous metals including copper, aluminum, lead, zinc, zirconium, and titanium.
Renowned for its abundant nonferrous metal resources, Guangxi is one of China's key regions for critical metals such as tin, antimony, indium, gallium, germanium, rare earths, nickel, cobalt, and lithium. Nandan County in Hechi is one of Guangxi's richest areas in mineral resources. Over the years, the nonferrous metals sector has grown into a pillar industry and a key economic strength for the region.
This year, Guangxi has intensified efforts to promote high-end, intelligent, and green development in the sector. Key measures include cracking down on illegal mining, consolidating mining rights, and improving environmental management. The establishment of the Nandan Pilot Zone for High-Quality Development of Critical Metals marks a new step toward building a world-class nonferrous and critical metal industry cluster.
