A new large strontium deposit has been discovered in Lishui, marking another major achievement in Jiangsu's latest strategic mineral exploration campaign
Strontium is an important rare metal used in special ceramics and magnetic alloys, playing a key role in industrial and technological development.
The northeastern Lishui Basin is a major strontium-rich area in Jiangsu, where four medium and large deposits have already been found. The exploration team also identified several hidden copper, lead-zinc, and pyrite bodies in the area and proposed a new integrated exploration strategy for multi-metal resources.
. Assessments show the celestite (strontium sulfate) deposit holds an inferred ore resource of 545,550 tonnes, including 265,400 tonnes of strontium minerals with an average grade of 48 . 65%.
