Rio Tinto has awarded Sinosteel Equipment & Engineering Co
The project, located on the Cape York Peninsula, is designed to produce 19 million tonnes of bauxite annually. Sinosteel Equipment will handle the full feasibility study, covering process and utilities design, modular equipment design, equipment list preparation, project scheduling, and cost estimation.
Sinosteel will work closely with Rio Tinto and Bechtel, the project's EPCM partner, to complete the study. The work will help lay the groundwork for the project and support Rio Tinto's plans to expand its global bauxite production capacity.
