Lanzhou New Area kicks off aluminum sheet, strip and foil project

On September 26, construction officially began on the high-precision aluminum sheet, strip, and foil project in Lanzhou New Area, led by Lanxin Energy and Technology Group Co., Ltd. The project, with a total investment of about RMB2.5 billion (USD351 million), has a designed annual production capacity of 120,000 tonnes.
Phase I will include production lines for 60,000tpa of high-precision aluminum sheet and strip, 15,000tpa of wide ultra-thin aluminum foil, and 15,000tpa of aluminum foil for new energy batteries. The products will serve high-end applications such as new energy vehicles, consumer electronics, energy storage, and aseptic packaging. Scheduled for operation in 2026, the project is expected to generate annual revenue of around RMB2.6 billion (USD365 million).
