China's Ministry of Commerce announced the decision to initiate an investigation into Mexico's restrictive measures that constitute trade and investment barriers against China, effective from September 25, 2025.
The investigation covers Mexico's proposed import tariff increases on products from China and other non-FTA partners, including automobiles and parts, textiles, apparel, plastics, steel, home appliances, aluminum, etc. It will also review other trade and investment restrictions Mexico has imposed against China in recent years, according to the ministry.
