Jiangxi Hezheng to build 180ktpa recycled copper project

Project construction will include new workshops for oxygen-enriched side-blowing furnace, anode furnace, electrolysis process, and electrolyte purification, as well as other associated facilities.

Using copper scrap, furnace slag, and other copper-containing secondary resources as raw materials, the project will adopt a process combining oxygen-enriched side-blowing furnace, anode furnace, electrolytic refining, and electrolyte purification to produce electrolytic copper, with by-products of copper anode mud and nickel sulfate. Once completed, it will produce 60,000 tonnes of black copper (intermediate product), 224,000 tonnes of anode copper (intermediate product), 180,000 tonnes of copper cathode, along with 1,800 tonnes of copper anode mud and 3,249 tonnes of nickel sulfate annually.
