Asia's largest fluorspar mine begins production in Xinjiang

On September 20, Hua'ou Mining Industry Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Xinjiang Nonferrous Metals Industry (Group) Co., Ltd., began production at its 1.2 million tonne-per-year fluorspar beneficiation project in Ruoqiang County, marking the transition of Asia's largest single fluorspar mine from construction to commercial production.
The project, which holds 15% of China's proven fluorspar reserves, mainly produces fluorspar concentrate that will help reduce reliance on imported high-end raw materials and support key sectors such as new energy batteries and semiconductor etching. The project is expected to directly employ over 500 people and indirectly create around 2,000 jobs, boosting the local economy.
