Erdos Xijin Kuangye to add new ferrosilicon furnaces

Erdos Xijin Kuangye Co., Ltd. plans to build additional ferrosilicon furnaces under a supplemental capacity replacement plan released by the Etuoke Banner Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, in line with government policies to promote high-quality development of the ferroalloy industry.
The company had previously decommissioned six 7,500 kVA, two 10,000 kVA, twenty-two 12,500 kVA, and eighteen 18,000 kVA furnaces, replacing them with ten 45,000 kVA and two 40,500 kVA units, reducing its total ferrosilicon capacity to 461,200 tonnes per annum, at a 1.25:1 capacity reduction and replacement ratio.
The supplemental plan involves two 45,000 kVA and one 40,500 kVA submerged arc furnaces. Construction is scheduled to begin in October 2025, with commissioning expected by December 2027. Once completed, the project will add 113,500tpa of ferrosilicon capacity.
