Bauxite utilization project commissioned in Qingzhen

On September 4, Guiyang Industrial and Commercial Asset Management Co., Ltd. commissioned the first phase of Qingzhen bauxite utilization project, which focuses on processing 500,000 tonnes of high-sulfur bauxite annually. The project, with a total investment of around RMB200 million (USD28.03 million), is designed to produce 440,000 tonnes of alumina concentrate and 60,000 tonnes of sulfur concentrate every year. When fully operational, it is expected to generate over RMB200 million (USD28.03 million) in annual revenue and more than RMB20 million (USD1.4 million) in annual average profit.
Qingzhen's bauxite reserves are estimated at 518 million tonnes, with prospective reserves exceeding 700 million tonnes, accounting for more than 60% of Guizhou Province's total. However, much of these reserves is high-sulfur bauxite, which is difficult to utilize. The project adopts an advanced "non-driven reverse flotation desulfurization" process to convert high-sulfur bauxite into alumina concentrate (sulfur content≤0.5%) and sulfur concentrate (sulfur content≥38%), significantly improving resource efficiency and supporting the development of the deep-processing aluminum industry in Qingzhen.
