CHALCO reports higher alumina output and sales in H1

Aluminum Corporation of China Limited (CHALCO) reported production of 8.6 million tonnes of metallurgical grade alumina and 2.08 million tonnes of chemical grade alumina for the first half of 2025, up by 4.88% and 0.48% respectively from the prior year period, while sales of metallurgical grade alumina increased by 4.08% YoY to 3.32 million tonnes, according to the company's half-year report.
From January to June, Chalco produced 3.97 million tonnes and sold 3.95 million tonnes of primary aluminum (including alloy), up by 9.37% and 10.03% respectively year-on-year.
During the first half, the company saw bauxite shipment from Chalco's Guinean project increasing by 42%YoY, and the raw ore self-sufficiency rate has risen by 6 percentage points since the beginning of the year.
In 2025, the company aims to produce 16.81 million tonnes of metallurgical grade alumina, 4.46 million tonnes of chemical grade alumina, and 7.80 million tonnes of primary aluminum (including alloys).
