China releases new safety standards for aluminum and copper production

China has approved two updated mandatory national standards led by Chinalco subsidiaries, namely Safety Specification for Aluminium Electrolysis (GB 29741-2025) and Safe Production Specifications for Copper and Copper alloy Melting and Casting (GB 30080-2025). Both standard will take effect on February 1, 2026.
The new standards tighten safety requirements for aluminum electrolysis and copper casting, introducing full life-cycle management to help companies better control risks, prevent accidents, and support high-quality industry development.
