Wanji Aluminum to build 580ktpa aluminum capacity in Xinjiang

Wanji Aluminum (Xinjiang) Co., Ltd. plans to build 360 electrolytic cells (600kA) at Luotuoquanzi Industrial Park in Xinxing City Economic and Technological Development Zone, Xinjiang, with a total primary aluminum production capacity of 580,000 tonnes per annum. Construction is scheduled to begin in March 2026, with production expected to start in December 2027.
The project is part of a capacity replacement scheme recently released for public disclosure by the Industry and Information Technology Department of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. Under the capacity swap plan, Henan Wanji Aluminum Co., Ltd. will retire an equivalent 580,000tpa of capacity in 2027.
