Chifeng Gold releases first resource estimate for Sepon gold-copper mine

Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company, a subsidiary of Chifeng Jilong Gold Mining Co., Ltd., completed the first phase of exploration for the SND gold-copper project in Laos by the end of June 2025. A maiden 2012 JORC complaint resource estimate report for the mine was released on August 7.
The SND gold-copper project is located in Seponh District, Savannakhet Province, and is classified as a porphyry gold-copper deposit. As of June 30, 2025, the resource estimate report, using a cutoff grade of 0.40 g/t gold equivalent (AuEq), shows approximately 93.7 million tonnes of "Indicated" resources grading at 0.57 g/t Au and 0.27% Cu, containing 250,000 tonnes of copper. The "Inferred" resources reached 37.8 million tonnes grading at 0.46 g/t Au and 0.22% Cu, containing 83,000 tonnes of copper. In total, the project holds around 131.5 million tonnes of ore with an average grade of 0.54 g/t Au and 0.25% Cu, containing 332,000 tonnes of copper.
Preliminary tests found the ore has medium hardness and responds well to flotation. The overall recovery rate for gold (flotation plus tailings cyanidation) reached 88%, while copper recovery achieved 88.5%.
