The company continued to expand its overseas copper-cobalt operations during the first half of this year, with its projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) delivering stable output. Copper production in the DRC reached 101,800 tonnes, with the CCR and CCM smelting facilities running smoothly.
At the Kalongwe project, mined copper production totaled 23,300 tonnes, despite power supply issues caused by low rainfall during the rainy season. Brother Mining produced 46,600 tonnes of copper and advanced its capacity expansion plan . Once upgrades are complete, its annual copper production capacity would reach 120,000 tonnes.
Cobalt products sales, however, were impacted by the DRC's cobalt export ban, with subsidiary Kelixin seeing a 27.8% drop in sales year-on-year.
