Defu Technology to acquire Circuit Foil Luxembourg for EUR174 million

On July 29, Jiujiang Defu Technology Co., Ltd. signed a share purchase agreement with Volta Energy Solutions S.à.r.l., a Luxembourg-based subsidiary of Solus Advanced Materials, to acquire 100% equity interest of Circuit Foil Luxembourg for EUR174 million. The final price will be confirmed at closing.
Founded in 1960, Circuit Foil Luxembourg is a leading global supplier of high-end copper foil for electronic circuits, with an annual capacity of 16,800 tonnes. Its core products include HVLP (ultra-low profile copper foil) and DTH (carrier foil), widely used in high-end IT applications.
The acquisition will boost Defu Technology's total copper foil production capacity from 175,000 to 191,000 tonnes per year, making it the largest copper foil producer globally. Defu Technology currently operates three domestic plants in China, namely Jiujiang Defu New Energy (55,000tpa), Jiujiang Hupo New Materials (50,000tpa), and Lanzhou Defu New Materials (70,000tpa). The Luxembourg plant will become a key part of its global network.
This marks a major step in Defu Technology's international expansion. The company aims to build a global production and sales system across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and North America, targeting premium customers in overseas markets and becoming China's first global copper foil manufacturer.
