The secondary copper recycling base project by Chuxiong Dianzhong Nonferrous Metals Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Chinalco, has reached full operation, following the production of the first batch of anode copper from its second rotary anode furnace. The project marks a key step in advancing the green and low-carbon transformation of the nonferrous metals industry.
With an annual capacity of 200,000 tonnes of anode copper, the project features innovative high-impurity copper electrolysis technology and a dual-track "primary + recycled" model. This reduces reliance on primary copper ore, improves adaptability to complex raw materials, and enhances resource security and cost efficiency. Advanced equipment, including rotary anode furnaces and RGV smart transfer systems, helps lower energy consumption and boost production efficiency.
