Jiatang Aluminum's phase I alumina project enters commissioning phase

Gansu Jiatang Aluminum Co., Ltd. has made significant progress on its 6-million-tonne-per-annum alumina project, with Phase I now completed and entering commissioning phase. As the first alumina project in Northwest China, the launch marks a key step in establishing an integrated "green aluminum" industrial chain in Jiayuguan City, covering the production of alumina, primary aluminum, aluminum materials, and deep processing.
Phase I construction began in April 2024, for an annual capacity of around 2 million tonnes. With a total investment of RMB3.3 billion (USD461 million), the project will build six alumina calcination lines. Once fully operational, it is expected to generate around RMB5 billion (USD698 million) in annual output and create over 100 jobs.
