500ktpa green aluminum project passes environmental review in Qinghai

On July 14, the environmental impact assessment (EIA) report for a 500,000tpa green aluminum capacity replacement and upgrade project in Qinghai province was approved after expert review.
The project, developed by Qinghai Qiaotou Aluminum and Power Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Qinghai Province Investment Group Co., Ltd., will use the internationally advanced 600kA electrolysis cell technology, a leading standard for energy efficiency and environmental protection in aluminum production.
As the first step in Qinghai Province Investment Group's three-phase aluminum development plan, it will increase green power use and support cleaner aluminum smelting.
