On June 7, Jiangxi Copper (Zambia) Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. powered up its upward casting furnace, marking the start of production at Zambia's largest and most advanced copper processing project.
The project, part of Shenzhen Jiangtong Southern Company Limited's global expansion strategy, was launched on September 10, 2024, and became operational after 270 days of construction. It is designed to produce 8,000 tonnes of oxygen-free copper rods annually.
