Tianshan Aluminum launches primary aluminum green upgrade project

Tianshan Aluminum has begun a major upgrade at its Shihezi plant to boost energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. Using advanced domestic technology, the project will upgrade its 1.4 million-tonne-per-annum primary aluminum capacity.
Once completed, the plant will increase its annual output to around 1.4 million tonnes, with power consumption per tonne of molten aluminum expected to reach industry-leading levels.
The project, which has received full regulatory approval, is scheduled for a 10-month construction period with a total investment of approximately RMB 2.23 billion (USD310 million).
