Liuzhou Wuling Automobile Industry Co., Ltd. has completed the first trial production of a semi-solid die-cast magnesium alloy Cross Car Beam (CCB) for lightweight dashboard applications. This marks a significant milestone in the company's strategic transformation toward magnesium alloy technologies and accelerates its progress in the field of sustainable automotive lightweighting.
The trial-produced CCB component measures over 1.5 meters in length, with a single magnesium alloy injection volume exceeding 8kg, while the final product weighs just 4.6kg. Leveraging a magnesium alloy injection molding machine and semi-solid forming technology, the trial resulted in significantly enhanced product performance.
