Chalco to build alumina production lines in Dalian

As part of the "Overseas + Coastal" development strategy and efforts to optimize its alumina industry layout, Aluminum Corporation of China Limited (Chalco) has recently received board approval to construct two alumina production lines, each with an annual capacity of 1.5 million tonnes, in the Taiping Bay Cooperation and Innovation Zone in Dalian, Liaoning. The total investment for the project is estimated at approximately RMB 7.94 billion (USD1.09 billion).
To construct and operate the project, the board also approved the establishment of a wholly owned subsidiary, Chinalco (Dalian) Aluminum Co., Ltd., funded with monetary capital. The subsidiary will be registered with a capital equal to 40% of the project's total investment, amounting to approximately RMB3.17 billion (USD435 million).
