Major Chinese steel mills produced around 20.07 million tonnes of finished steel products during the first ten-day period of March, when the daily output was 2,007,000 tonnes, down by 12.8% from late February, according to China Iron & Steel Association (CISA).
By the end of the period, major Chinese steel mills held finished steel products inventory of around 16.24 million tonnes, a decrease of 70,000 tonnes or 0.4% compared with late February.
