Zhenxiong Copper puts high-end copper rod project into operation

Baotou Zhenxiong Copper Co., Ltd. has completed the upgrade of its continuous casting and rolling production line, producing the first batch of high-end copper rods. The project, which utilizes rare earth modification technology to overcome key industry challenges, enables a monthly output of 8,000 tonnes.
The upgrade, completed over a 10-month period, has significantly improved production efficiency, with the yield rate of copper rod rising to 98.6% and the unit energy consumption down to 12%. In addition, the company's products now exhibit an 18% increase in tensile strength and an elongation rate of 45%, all while maintaining high electrical conductivity. The overall performance meets the highest standards set by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
Copper rods produced from the upgraded line are widely applicable in ultra-high voltage (UHV) power transmission, new energy vehicles, and 5G communications. Their enhanced properties help reduce motor winding losses and extend the lifespan of battery packs.
