Bosai Group's first batch of 8,000 tonnes of bauxite from Guyana has arrived at Wanzhou Port via river-sea combined transport
Bosai Group acquired a mining company in Guyana in 2006, securing over 200 million tonnes of bauxite resources. The company has since established a stable supply chain in the South American country, with an annual production capacity of 5 million tonnes.
In 2025, Bosai Group in on track to complete a 5.6Mtpa alumina capacity expansion at Jiulong Wanbo, making it the world's largest single-site alumina producer . Additionally, Bosai Group plans to ramp up the metallurgical-grade bauxite production in Guyana to 10Mtpa from the current 5Mtpa, boosting the ore self-sufficiency rate at its Wanzhou plant to over 65%.
