Chifeng launches tin mineral exploration project

On February 28, a demonstration meeting for the launch and implementation plan of a national science and technology major special project, "Major Geological Events and Tin Polymetallic Mineralization in the Greater Hinggan Mountains," was held in Beijing, which marked the official commencement of the 2025 mineral exploration campaign in Chifeng.
The project is led by the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences in collaboration with 12 scientific research institutes, seven mining enterprises, and the Chifeng city government. Focused primarily on the northern region of Chifeng, the project aims to uncover new tin deposits and is expected to find 100,000 tonnes of tin resources upon completion.
