Yantai Port's annual bauxite throughput exceeds 130 million tonnes

A vessel recently completed the unloading of 205,000 tonnes of bauxite at Yantai Port of Shandong Port Group, which marked a milestone of more than 50 million tonnes of annual bauxite import through Yantai Port in 2024, with port throughput surpassing 130 million tonnes. Yantai Port remains the No.1 bauxite importing port in the world.
As a gateway for China's aluminum industry to get bauxite supply from Africa, Yantai Port has built a full-course logistic network that connects African mines and Chinese end users. The Boke port region and Kimbo port region operated by Yantai Port in Guinea have exported more than 360 million tonnes of bauxite to date, accounting for over 50% of total bauxite export from the West African country.
