Boao Magnesium gets national support for large automotive Mg-alloy structure project

The large, thin-walled complex integrated die-casting magnesium alloy structures development and application project led by Chongqing Boao Magnesium Aluminium Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and codeveloped by Chongqing SERES New Energy Vehicle Design Institute Co., Ltd., Chongqing University, Chongqing Millison Technologies Inc., Chongqing Institute of New Energy Storage Materials and Equipment, and Chongqing Advanced Light Metal Research Institute, has been listed as one of the key products and technologies that will receive national support for promotion, according to the 2024 list released by the MIIT and SASAC.
The project will develop a large, thin-walled complex integrated die-casting magnesium alloy structure, which is expected to further reduce the weight of new energy vehicles for longer driving range and better performance.
