The project uses direct reduced iron produced by hydrogen metallurgy method as the raw material for the short-process electric furnace steelmaking process, to produce high-end automotive steel sheet, with low carbon footprint.
HBIS has been promoting green steelmaking process such as hydrogen metallurgy, and it plans to build production capacity of 7.41 million tonnes per annum of low-carbon-footprint steel products by 2026.
. , Ltd . , a subsidiary of HBIS Group, put into operation the world's first hydrogen metallurgy automotive steel sheet continuous casting production line, which is equipped with a 1900mm single strand slab continuous casting machine, for an annual production capacity of 1 . 5 million tonnes of automotive steel sheet.
