APALT to invest in automotive aluminum extrusions project in Northeast China

On November 2, Jiangsu Asia-Pacific Light Alloy Technology Co., Ltd. (APALT) entered into an investment agreement with the management committee of Shenyang Huishan Economic and Technological Development Zone to build the first phase of an automotive lightweight aluminum extrusions production base project in Northeast China, for a total investment of RMB600 million (USD84.44 million).
APALT plans to set up a local subsidiary, with a registered capital of RMB150 million (21.11 million), to build the project, which would take five years to complete as scheduled. When fully operational, it would be able to produce 50,000 tonnes per annum of automotive lightweight aluminum components and extrusions with an annual production value of RMB1.2 billion (USD169 million), helping boost the development of auto industry in Northeast China.
APALT had an annual production capacity of 300,000 tonnes of aluminum extrusions in 2023 and the new project would add capacity of 50,000tpa when in full operation.
